We look for a named halal kitchen, a head chef we can identify, and naturally-compliant options (seafood, vegetarian) as a backup.

Whether a burkini or modest swimwear is explicitly welcomed, in writing, wherever we can get it. A resort's silence on this question is treated as unconfirmed, not assumed to be fine.

Real distance between villas, not a marketing photo. We check whether natural landscaping actually blocks sightlines, or whether it only looks like it does in a wide-angle shot.

Private treatment rooms, female therapists on request, and whether mixed-gender areas (steam rooms, plunge pools) can be avoided entirely if needed.

An on-site mosque or dedicated prayer space, and qibla direction in-villa where possible. This is one of the most inconsistently documented criteria across the industry, and one of the most important to Muslim guests.

Whether alcohol is present, where, and whether an alcohol-free plan or board basis exists. We don't penalise a resort for serving alcohol elsewhere on the property. We do flag it clearly so you can decide.
