Affiliate Links

Some links on this site, most commonly the "Check availability" buttons on resort reviews, are affiliate links. If you book through one, we may earn a small commission from the partner (Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Trip.com, or similar), at no additional cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the partner's site.

Comped Stays

Some of the properties reviewed on this site have hosted us free of charge, or at a reduced rate, as part of a media stay. When this is the case, we disclose it directly on the review.

A comped stay never changes the outcome of a review. We assess every property against the same six criteria, whether we paid for the stay ourselves or the property covered it. No property is given editorial approval over the assessment or the wording before publication. If a property isn't willing to accept that condition, we don't review it.

Why This Matters to Us

The value of this site depends entirely on the assessments meaning something. The moment a comped stay or an affiliate relationship starts influencing a verdict, the whole exercise becomes marketing wearing a review's clothes. We'd rather lose a partnership than lose that.
